General Pre-Care Information
Cosmetic Tattooing (Microblading, Powder Brow, Combo Brow, Nano Brows OR Lip Blush) procedures may require multiple treatment sessions. For the best results, clients will be required to return for at least one re-touch appointment. This will take anywhere between 6-10 weeks after the initial procedure.
If you are prone to bruising and/or swelling, we recommend taking oral Arnica Montana (can be found in a vitamin store, or online) to reduce bruising and/or swelling. Start taking it 4-5 days prior to your appointment, per label instructions.
If you have used or are using Accutane, you need to discontinue use for at least 1 year prior to your appointment.
You may want to avoid cosmetic tattooing if you:
Have very oily skin and/or very large pores on your forehead and brow area.
Are very tan or sun-damaged.
Suffer from severe allergies.
Your skin is very delicate, fragile, sensitive or problematic. Skin Conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea or melasma that are present on the face will affect retention , how your color ages over time and the longevity of your cosmetic tattooing.
Are allergic to Lidocaine, Tetracaine or Benzocaine.
Have chronic chapped lips (Lip services only).
Are prone to scarring or keloids.
Are epileptic.
Are under 18. We will NOT tattoo anyone under the age of 18.
Are Pregnant or Nursing.
Pre-Care Instructions | Brows, Lips & Freckles
Please read the Pre-Care instructions for your specific service below.
-
Please discontinue the use of any Retinols, Retinoids, Retin-A or Tretinoin creams for a minimum of 6 weeks.
Take a break from any exfoliating and anti acne products ( glycolics, vitamin c, AHA/ BHA, enzyme washes, serums, etc) near and around your brows area at least 2 weeks prior to your session and 2 weeks after for best healed results.
Refrain from drinking alcohol or taking blood thinning medications 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Any treatments such as lasers, peels, waxing, botox, tinting, etc should also take place 2 weeks prior or 2 weeks after your appointment.
Skin should be healthy and non-irritated, blemish and sunburn free for best results. Your skin type & condition will greatly determine your results.
Microblading alone is only suitable for dry, non-porous & healthy skin. Most clients will benefit from a naturally shaded style brow with a few hairlike details.

The Week Before Your Appointment:
Avoid alcohol, excessive caffeine, lip sticks and extreme sun exposure.
Drink a minimum of 8 (8 oz) glasses of water daily.
Vitamin E or Vitamin A&D should be applied to your lips throughout the day.
After showering/washing your face in the evening, gently scrub your lips using a lip scrub (see lip scrub details below), especially in the middle, and then apply a thin layer of Vitamin D or A&D.
Please do not take blood thinners such as ibuprofen & aspirin 24 hours prior to your appointment.
If needed, Tylenol can be taken 30 minutes before your appointment.
If you are prone to bruising and/or swelling, we recommend taking oral Arnica Montana (can be found in a vitamin store, or online) to reduce bruising and/or swelling. Start taking it 4-5 days prior to your appointment, per label instructions.
Please do not have any Fat/Botox/Filler less than two weeks prior to your appointment.
Additional Lip Pre-Procedure Advice:
Please make sure your lips are well moisturized in the days leading to the appointment. Dry, cracked lips won't heal nicely. If your lips are dry, cracked or irritated on the day of your appointment, you will most likely be rescheduled.
If you've EVER had even 1 cold sore on the outside area of your mouth or on your lips, you MUST take doctor prescribed Valtrex or similar at least 3 days prior and 3 days after getting your lips tattooed. If you don't - this procedure will trigger an outbreak that will affect healing, so this is very important & very easy to avoid.
If you have Lip Filler, you MUST wait at least 1 month before/after to get your lips tattooed.
Lip Scrub
Combine 1 TBSP of Brown Sugar, 1 TBSP of Honey and 1 TBSP of Olive Oil and mix well.
Apply lip scrub mixture to lips in a circular motion for 5-10 minutes to eliminate chapping.
Repeat daily, up to 3 days before your appointment.

Application is quick, and a combination of natural browns is used for the most subtle effect. Much like other forms of cosmetic tattooing, freckles will look a bit 'unnatural' and more defined/crisp for 3-5 days, before they settle in and become more subtle and natural.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a user of any exfoliating anti aging/ anti acne products (retinoids, glycolics, vitamin c, AHA/ BHA, enzyme washes, serums, etc) - you must not use these on the tattooed area, both before and after the tattoo.
